Next-Generation Reporting at Doccla

Making data more accessible, flexible and actionable for NHS teams

Clinicians and NHS partners need fast, secure insights without unnecessary complexity. That’s why Doccla is evolving reporting to make it more powerful, accessible and seamlessly integrated into everyday workflows.

From static reports to interactive insights

Our earlier reporting setup focused on static PDFs. While this delivered reliable outputs, it limited NHS clients’ ability to interact with the data directly, leading to manual CSV distribution when more detail was needed, a process that added unnecessary complexity.

To address this, we’re transitioning to Data Hub, a modern, self-serve analytics environment designed to give clinicians and NHS partners far more flexibility. Data Hub uses a semantic layer, which means non-technical users can generate, customise and interact with reports, without needing SQL knowledge.

Rollout: What can clinicians expect

A soft launch of the data hub, with demo data, has already taken place. The next milestone is a production site for NHS clients, with embedding into the clinician dashboard planned in the coming months.

The experience for clinicians will remain familiar: pre-configured reports will mirror what they already know, with the added benefit of being able to download, copy and edit them. For more advanced users, custom reports will be possible. Training will be simple and accessible, with video walkthroughs available directly from the welcome page.

What this means for our partners

For NHS teams, the shift to Data Hub means faster, more reliable access to the data that matters most - delivered through a self-serve platform that reduces manual processes and puts control directly in their hands. For clinicians, it means tools that fit around the realities of care, whether they want to view a pre-built report in seconds or create something more tailored. And for patients, it means their care is supported by insights that are timely, accurate and easy for healthcare professionals to act on.

This is the next step in making data work harder for the NHS, so clinicians can focus on what they do best: delivering care.

"Dashboard looks good, and is a good resource for Commissioners and Providers. Having access to live data is super important, especially over winter when capacity is a hot topic! Anything that supports these conversation is fab, thx guys!"
"The overall look and feel of the platform is impressive. It’s easy to navigate, and the filtering options are straightforward to use [...] it looks like the Data Hub could be incredibly useful. I’m looking forward to seeing how it evolves"

The road ahead

Looking ahead, we see opportunities to take Data Hub even further. Intelligent alerts could help clinicians respond faster when important changes occur, ensuring insights translate into timely action.

Longer term, AI agents have the potential to make data interaction feel effortless, enabling clinicians and NHS partners to ask questions in plain language, receive instant visualisations and uncover insights without needing technical expertise.

These future developments point to a direction where data not only informs care, but actively supports it - seamlessly, securely and in the flow of everyday clinical work.
